Fremantle prison is the largest convict built prison in the southern hemisphere. Construction started in 1851 and it was opened in 1855 and served as the main prison for Western Australia until it was closed in 1991.
It was a harsh place and didn't have power installed until the 1980's.
This is possibly the most haunted place in Australia.
