How To Post a You Tube Clip

Postby Jemm » Tue Sep 27, 2011 5:17 am

a lot of the times a Youtube clip will be embedded, which means when you post it to here it may look ok but when the view clicks on the clip will be blank, with the words..
this clip is EMBEDDED watch this clip on YOU TUBE ..there is a simple solution to this and one that will always work...follow these easy steps..

*1 open the topic you wish to post to on the forum.

*2 Find the You Tube clip you want on the You Tube site.

*3 On You Tube directly UNDER the clip you will see 4 Tabs..Look for the SHARE tab and click on that.

*4 The SHARE tab is open and there is a white box with the highlighted link

*5 to the right of the white box will be SHOW OPTIONS, click on that.

*6 Click on the little box that says LONG LINK.

*7 Run your cursor along that link and it will highlight blue.

*9 Return to the forum and at the top of the page you will see the tab youtube, click on that.

*10 This will insert a symbol like this

*11 CAREFULLY move your cursor BETWEEN the ][ and LEFT CLICK..this will give you the space to insert your link.

*12 RIGHT CLICK and hit the PASTE tab ,your link should look something like this..

* 13 As with everything you post click the PREVIEW tab before SUBMIT.

*14 Your clip should show on here like this..

*15 If it looks good , click SUBMIT

Just a reminder to members, if you are posting a youtube clip on site, please make sure you use the long url address, the one out of the address bar and not the short url address that you get when you click on share.
Only the long links work on here with the coding in place.
If you are not sure, please contact either Jemm or I and we can help you :cheesy:

This is a short link and doesn't work with the you tube tags on this site

Code: Select all

This is the link from the address bar, the long link for the same video, that will work with the yout tube tags on this site.

Code: Select all

In the tags it looks like this

Code: Select all

This is the video
