Postby Jemm » Tue Sep 20, 2011 1:54 pm

Please use these following instructions to post a link from another page, this is very important so as not to take the viewer away from our site, it opens another window..

*1.Find the site you want to post.
*2.Highlight the address from the site in the address bar eg. http://www.aussieghosts.com , right click and copy
*3.When you are ready to post the link open the topic in Aussie Ghosts
*4 Look above where you normaly type your story and click on the tab in the box marked URL
*5.This will insert this symbol [url][/url]
*6.CAREFULLY place your cursor BETWEEN ][
*7.Right click and hit PASTE.
*8.Before hitting the SUBMIT tab to post your story ALWAYS check your work by hitting the PREVIEW button at the bottom of the page.

The finished link should look like this

Code: Select all

[url]http://www.aussieghosts.com[/url]

Just a reminder to members to place any links to other sites in the url tags. When in the post reply box, the url tab is the one to the left of the font size drop down box.

It really is important to place the link in the tags so that the site opens in a new window or tab, if this is not done the link will take the person away from Aussie Ghosts.

This is what the url tab looks like if you click on it, the link address goes between the two middle brackets(with no spaces).

Code: Select all

[url][/url]

like this as shown above

Code: Select all

[url]www.aussieghosts.com[/url]

The easiest way to do it is paste the link here, highlight it and then click on the tag button, it will place the tags on each end of the link for you without error. :cheesy:
