Willard Library ghost photo sequence

Postby Dellycat » Sun Jan 15, 2012 9:22 am

Ok, I am not even bothering to put this in to ghost photo discussions. This is a classic example of us being told what we are seeing and the information given with the photos is incorrect when you remove the photos from the sequence and look at the individually. The information on the site states the pictures were captured 30 seconds apart and have been put together as a slide show to show what is happening....

http://paranormal.about.com/od/ghostphotos/ig/Paranormal-Photo-Gallery/willard4_lg.htm

These are the photos as a gif file

Now here are the photos individually in the same order they appear in the sequence above.
Notice the time stamp on the top ..... 9.14pm, book isn't on table and person appears to be approaching table

Photos 2 and 3 are the same, the only thing different is the red circle has moved slightly. Again the person is facing towards the desk area, the book is open and the time stamp is..... 9.44pm

willardghost3.jpg

Finally picture 4, not person, no book. Not surprising, look at the time stamp ...... 10.14pm

Now the original slideshow that I have slowed down so you can see things clearly in sequence. Note, the photos span an hour of time, not 1.5 minutes as the information would suggest.

At the end of the day, this is a very good example of being led to believe something that isn't, the power of suggestion and the slideshow distracts you from seeing the time stamp at the top.
There are times this library is open late and it is obviously someone in there studying and using books in that area, each capture has them facing towards the table like they are on their way back. The camera does refresh every 30 seconds on auto settings, you can refresh it yourself manually when watching the site. The person has done a screen capture twice in the 30 seconds to get two pictures the same, the red circle is put there by the site if you choose to circle what you are seeing.

Hope this helps others understand how to look at things before believing it to be paranormal.

There is an inn, a merry old inn beneath an old grey hill, And there they brew a beer so brown that the Man in the Moon himself came down one night to drink his fill - sign under the Prancing Pony Inn - LOTR

I do agree that there is nothing paranormal here, but isn't the time stamp 2:09 pm and 14 sec? 2:09:14 for first one.

You are correct TPA-TL2, it is 2pm 9 minutes and 14 seconds and my first comment said ..... 9.14pm, short hand for the time and as it was only the minutes and seconds that changed and is obvious in the videos, there was no need to write it all out in full each time.

:scared: I just looked at my last reply.... sorry didn't mean to sound like I was snapping.

Been a long weekend here with very little sleep and now it looks like I may have a stress fracture in my foot. :exhausted:

I'm really sorry to hear about the foot delly  and lack of sleep.
I didnt think you were snapping at all, I was just curious because it seemed to me that the time stamps shw that they were in a space of exactly 1 minute. first was 2h, 9m, 14s and last one 2h 10m 14s
I may have just misunderstood part of it, hectic few days with my 3 daughters here so know your pain of sleep deprivation. :exhausted:
